Open A Zip is a browser-based archive tool. Archive files are processed on your device. We do not upload, transmit, or store your files on any server.

Data We Do Not Collect

• Your files. Archive files you open are processed locally in your browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. File contents never leave your device.
• Passwords. If you enter a password to decrypt an archive, it is used locally on your device and is never sent to any server.
• Account information. We do not require sign-up or login. No personal account data is collected.

Data We May Collect

• Anonymous usage analytics. We may use privacy-respecting analytics (such as page views and general usage patterns) to understand how the site is used. These do not include file contents or account data. Depending on the provider, limited technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited may be processed.
• Error reports. If an error occurs, anonymous diagnostic information (browser type, error message) may be collected to help us fix bugs. No file content is included.

Local Storage

The site uses your browser's local storage to remember preferences such as view mode and preview display settings. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to any server.

Third-Party Services

We do not send file contents, archive contents or passwords to analytics providers.
